First SpeechHub version with Support for MaryTTS version 5; more specifically MaryTTS version 5.1.1
For NVDA users, add-on for version 2022.1 and later is available, released July 2022
SpeechHub is a cross-platform speech server which is installed on your computer. SpeechHub supports out-of-the-box MaryTTS, PicoTTS, eSpeak, Microsoft speech API version 5 (SAPI5) and Microsoft Speech Platform (MSP).
Applications called 'clients', requiring speech, communicate with SpeechHub to convert text into speech. At present SpeechHub supports the following applications:
NVDA screen reader
SpeechHub connects to NVDA using a single add-on for all synthesizers but they appear separately in the Synthesizer NVDA dialog. Their use is exactly the same as any native synthesizer driver.
SpeakOn MediaSuite
SpeechHub support is available out-of-the-box in SpeakOn; if SpeechHub is installed, SpeakOn can use SpeechHub's synthesizers like other built-in synthesizer drivers.
